National Values and Leadership Course to Empower Nigerian Leaders in 2025

Jos, Plateau State – In a bid to strengthen leadership competencies and embed core national values among Nigerian leaders, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), in collaboration with Tomruk iHub Multiverse and the Dakrisbenic Foundation for Unity and Development in Africa (DAFUDA), has announced the National Values and Leadership Course. This transformative training program is scheduled to take place from March 12–14, 2025, at the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.

Building Ethical and Effective Leadership

The course is designed to equip participants with the skills and ethical foundations necessary to drive effective governance, promote social cohesion, and advance national development. Anchored in the National Values Charter, the program will emphasize The Nigerian Promise—a social contract that outlines the country’s national ideals in governance and sovereignty. The seven core promises highlighted in the charter include Equality, Democracy, Entrepreneurship, Peace, Inclusivity, Freedom, and Meritocracy.

In addition, the training will focus on a seven-point code of conduct that defines the Nigerian identity, encouraging a mindset rooted in Discipline, Duty of Care, Tolerance, Leadership, Accountability, Environmental Awareness, and Resilience.

A Hands-On Leadership Experience

Participants can expect a dynamic and interactive learning environment, featuring sessions on:

  • Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution, fostering harmony and strategic decision-making.
  • Transparency and accountability, building trust in governance.
  • Inclusive decision-making, embracing diverse perspectives.
  • Action learning projects and workshops, offering practical tools to enhance leadership effectiveness.

The course aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, ensuring that leaders leave with actionable insights to address Nigeria’s complex challenges.

  • Lanre Issa Onilu, Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
